Château Moulin de la Bridane has belonged to the Blancan and Saintout families for almost three centuries. Part of the estate lies around the western edge of the village of Saint-Julien. The rest is at the top of the hillsides looking down onto the Grand Crus Classés and across to the Gironde Estuary.
The grapes are picked and are sorted by hand. Some of the juice is often run off. Fermentation in vats with full temperature control. Matured for 9 to 16 months in barrels, 1/3 which are new. Fined using egg whites. No filtration
Tasting: This Bordeaux from the municipality of Saint-Julien is classic, harmonious and powerful. The cuvée has a seductive aroma of black currants and cedars, a little roasted coffee and pickled plums. On the palate, the 'Clos du Meunier' is rich and ripe with an excellent balance between dark fruit, precise ripeness and powerful but excellently integrated tannins. The finish is long, spicy and fruity.
