Grapes Varieties: 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc
La Gloriette" is the emblematic construction of the Clos du Notaire estate. The vines are ideally located on hillsides, facing south. The proximity of the Gironde allows a regulation of the climate. The grassing of certain plots allows a richer subsoil life and an effective fight against erosion!
The vines, some of which were planted in the mid-1950s and which average 30 years of age, are merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon spread over 21 hectares of gravelly clay-limestone. After harvesting plot by plot the grapes are sorted, de-stemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled vats. The wine then spends time in oak, about 15% new in the case of the Clos du Notaire cuvée and 50% new for the Notaris Grande Cuvée for 18 months.
Tasting:Traditional vintage of our estate, this wine displays aromas of black fruits revealing all the roundness of Merlot and the subtle tannins of Cabernet. The aromas oscillate between crisp, smoky and spicy and make it a wine of character. The palate is full-bodied, the finish is elegant with a clear point of firmness. Its silky tannins make it a versatile wine that can be drunk now or aged for up to ten years.
For a better tasting experience, open the bottle and air the wine for 10-30 minutes before drinking, at an ideal temperature of 17°C.
