Auslese, meaning "selected harvest" is a type of Riesling from Germany that is medium sweet; this is a sweeter style of wine than Spatlese, in conjunction with the 1971 German wine law. Auslese are not produced every year, as they are from very ripe grapes; as Germany is a cool climate, not every year has sufficient warmth to produce such grapes.
Bright medium gold color. Fruity aromas of rainwater basin, honey comb - bees wax, tart tartin, and key lime with a crisp, moderately sweet medium body and a smooth, complex, medium-long finish with fruit tannins and no oak.
