Chateau Falfas is situated on one of the most beautiful hillsides on the right bank of the Gironde, in the commune of Bayon. It has been known as the “glory of the Bourgeais” Since the 14th Century.
From the oldest vines of the estate - over 75 year old - Le Chevalier spent 18 months ageing in new oak barrels. Plenty of style. Rich, ripe, concentrated and full-bodied with notes of dark wild berries and a little spice well supported by acidity. Ample and voluptuous on the palate. Certainly one of the very best of the Côtes de Bourg appellation. A ‘Grand Vin’!
Tasting: Aromas and taste: Deep dark purple with powerful aromas of blackberries, Josta and blackthorn as well as first maturity notes like coffee, tobacco, tar and pepper. Very well integrated mature tannins with a long finish with toasted notes from the barrique. Food accompaniment: Game dishes, roast lamb and lamb.
