Grape Varieties: 80% Semillon, 15% Muscadelle, 5% Sauvignon
The Monbazillac appellation, which covers the Monbazillac, Rouffignac, Pomport and Colombier regions, located in the beautiful Dordogne area, south of Bergerac, is known for being behind some of France's most delicious and tasty dessert wines which are very attractive in price. The grapes used for the tasty Monbazillac Loupiac wines, are Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle, which are only harvested when attacked by the coveted noble council.
In the good years, Monbazillac Loupiac wine with its generous flavor palette of honey, vanilla, apricot and oranges can be fully on par with the sweet wines from Sauternes and Barsac - but usually at a completely different price level.
Intense, fresh and sweet scent with tones of honey, herbal and orange, added a very light touch of marzipan. The taste is bold and nicely balanced by the underlying acid.
